quince!!!!!!

Either last year or the year before, I discovered the large pieces of incredible that are quinces. I put them in a pie and had them with ice cream, and didn't get to do any more before the season ended. This year I was determined to do something with them for holiday food...and couldn't find any. Whole Foods, my previous dealersupplier, was a strikeout. So was Sprouts. In desperation, we tried Albertsons and Ralphs, and attempted to hit a farmer's market that turned out not to be where we'd been told it was. Finally found them at Wholesome Choice in Irvine, big as baseballs and just shy of ripe. I'm sure I poinged when I sighted them.

As kelson said, at least we didn't have to go to 15 markets to find them...
