So after spending seven hours at ZotCon and doing henna on five people (counting myself), I ended up doing designs for seven people (multiple designs on two) after work on Friday. Work shuts down at 3 on Fridays, but a lot of us stick around to get stuff done. This week, though, they notified us that they were going to shut down the computers "sometime after 3" on Friday. Then they started it at 2:45. I'd been going to try to work as long as I could, but I'd also brought along the remainder of the henna (which I kept in the freezer until about 2:00) since at least three people had said they were interested in trying it. So after a simple thumb ring on one woman and a more complicated bracelet design on another, two other co-workers came by and asked if I was going to go downstairs.

Downstairs? asked my brain.

Oh, right!

Friday was also the last day at the company for one of the supervisors, and everyone was invited to happy hour in the bar of the restaurant downstairs in the building. So, since the other two people who wanted henna were going to be there, I packed up my kit and lugged it to the bar.

And wow. It started with thumb rings and just went from there. I did two anklets and a bracelet, and a swirly hand design, and one guy wanted his wife's name on his shoulder. And since the office manager was there watching all this, and didn't object, it was all the cooler. The only bad part was that only one of my pictures came out. I'll have to take the camera in Monday to get the hand design and see how the first bracelet took.

And I hope that ZotCon next year will be more like the party. Except with less smoke.
