Dec. 23rd, 2005 01:53 amGood idea: Baking cookies and making spiced cider punch to enhance a theme decoration of your work unit.
Another good idea: Planning to give homemade goodies to everyone on your Christmas list able to eat them.
Bad idea: Staying up till 4 am taking care of the above.
Worse idea: Doing the above and then eating junk all day due to office-declared "munchie day."
It was a long, strange day. Breakfast consisted of artichoke dip (which I mistook for an egg casserole, and thus ate without benefit of chips for several bites), eggnog cake, and grape tomatoes. I expended way too much energy on the fake fireplace in the decorating project, so by about 10 am I was seriously dragging. And getting a scratchy throat. At one point during the morning, I was convinced for something like 10 minutes that my cube was actually located about 3 cubes behind me. And after all that, our unit didn't get squat in the decorating contest.
I didn't bother with dinner, just sacked out at about 7, soon after we got home. 17 hours of sleep later, I dragged myself out of bed and gave thanks that I wasn't obviously coming down with anything. It's the small stuff.
