you really need to watch that
Jun. 8th, 2005 11:34 pmYesterday morning, I put my watch on and noticed that the analog part was behind by several hours, but the digital part was fine. This morning, it was the same, but it took me a while to notice since 1:35 looks a lot like 7:05 if you're tired. I figured out today it wasn't just stopping when I took it off, but doing this evil little thing where the second hand gets stuck and the other two can't advance. The last time I had a watch do this, it was a crappy one from some discount catalog and it actually went backwards on a couple of occasions. (It didn't have a digital portion, but I kept wearing it just so I could show people that time, at least on my wrist, was moving backwards.)
If the digital half were having similar wonkiness, I'd assume it was the battery, but that much is keeping perfect time. I suspect I shouldn't be too amazed, given that this is the watch whose analog portion stopped when I fell on my butt on the pavement one night and started again a couple of months later when I dropped it on the shower floor. (Or did it stop in the shower and start when I fell......? Ack, memory is definitely the first to go.)
So, it's the proverbial time to get a new watch. This time, I'll try to choose one where I won't have to pull the crown out with my teeth to keep from either removing it altogether or killing my nails. But definitely keeping the dual-boot time system.
