weekly wonder
May. 6th, 2005 08:02 pmWednesday: The sound of a pile driver a quarter mile away bounces off different buildings at different times and pitches. I was thankful there were no cars driving through the parking lot as I wandered through, listening to the period of the echo change as I got closer to one of the buildings, and then change again as I passed it and headed toward the other, farther away. It's one thing to know about the speed and properties of sound, quite a goofy-grin-inducing other to stand in the middle of a demonstration of it.
Friday: My mango green tea from Tapioca Express today contained little translucent fruity stars as well as the usual tapioca. I think they're made of the same stuff as whatever they put in the middle of those little konjac gel candies you can't find anywhere anymore. Very pretty.
