death by reboot

I just finished my first bout with skellies. This involves paying $100 and having the group of skeletons on the island take an item from you if you lose. Ideally, you should have as many pirates as there are skellies, and they should have some clue about how to swordfight.
And, ideally, you should not try it close to a scheduled server reboot.
We had lost 6 times, only 5 of which I was involved in (due to a misclick and a resulting bout of Lag of Doom), and each of which improved on the performance of the last. We were FINALLY winning, 9 to 5 (out of 36 starting on both sides), when the server reboot kicked us all out. We got our money back, didn't lose any items, and.......the skellies were gone.
Three hours, 500 PoE, two skirts, a bid ticket, a pair of boots, and my signature scarf down the tubes. Not fair, indeed.
And now I'm going to sleep. Bleah.
